Jinga Life: bringing a family health platform to iOS
About this project
Most health apps ask you to think like a clinician. Jinga Life does the opposite: it's built for the person who actually holds a family together and keeps track of everyone's health, from a child's immunisations to a parent's care plan. Jinga Life came to us to turn that idea into an iOS app people could genuinely use. To achieve this, we guided them through our product design process.
Result: an interface clear enough to use regardless of age or medical situation, with the user journey stripped back to what actually matters.

Jinga Life is a digital, personalised, family health platform, changing the way we care for people on the planet by using simple technology to help them care for themselves and their loved ones.
Jinga Life's vision is to shift the axis of Healthcare from the Hospital to Home by empowering the "Jinga" (the Female, and true custodian & curator of the Family’s health and well-being) to coordinate and care for all her loved ones from the comfort of her home.
Jinga Life is a personalised family health platform based in Dublin. Its premise is a simple one with a big ambition behind it: move the centre of gravity in healthcare from the hospital back to the home. The platform is built around the "Jinga": the family member, usually the mother, who in practice coordinates everyone else's health and wellbeing.
The remit is deliberately broad. It follows a family through every stage of life: childhood immunisations and dental records, the messier teenage years, monitoring chronic conditions, reacting to accidents, and on into assisted living and end-of-life planning. One platform, one custodian, an entire family's health in a single place. And none of it requiring specialist software to open.
We were approached by the CEO to help moving the project further, after a new round of investment. The plan was to revisit the existing product and business model and develop a set digital products aligned with the new business goals.
One of these products was an application to help family members to manage the health records of their family, and easily share that information with doctors while still keeping information private.

We followed our Specialized Squad model, which provides a complete set of resources to deliver an end-to-end solution.
UX/UI Designers: Responsible for the design, architecture and implementation of all the experiences a user has when interacting with the Jinga Life app.
Front-end Developers: Responsible for ensuring that the app’s users can easily interact with it. They do this through the combination of design, technology and programming the app’s appearance, as well as taking care of debugging.
Project Manager: Define project requirements and outline the scope of the future app. After that, they provide a high-level project plan, and give the client rough time estimates.
This project delivered an in-depth understanding of the customer persona and their interaction with the service.
